A 2D action adventure game, prepared in the style of a survival horror. The story of The Coma 2B: Catacombs combines the first and second installment of The Coma series. Once again we play as the student Youngho Choi, trying to survive in an alternative version of Seoul.

The Coma 2B: Catacomb is an action adventure game in the style of a survival horror. In terms of plot, the game combines the events that took place in the first and second installments. The game was developed by Dvora Studio.

Plot

The story continues the plot of the protagonist already known form The Coma game. A student named Youngho Choi managed to escape from the mirror reality, in which monsters were lurking for him. Unfortunately the joy of returning to the real world does not last long. Chased by the Vicious Sister, the hero is forced to go in search of a powerful sword described in the notes of a girl named Yaesol. Only with its help will Youngho be able to resist the evil forces.

Gameplay

Just like the previous installments of the series, The Coma 2B: Catacomb is a two-dimensional, side-scrolling title. The game focuses on the exploration of a dangerous world, during which we collect clues and items, as well as solve puzzles and talk to NPCs. We can visit the Sehwa district and Dokaebi Market, where we can purchase useful tools. We use them to gain access to previously inaccessible locations.

Youngho has little health and is unable to deal with opponents in direct combat. This imposes on us the necessity of using the flashlight and moving quietly. Compared to previous parts, the enemies in The Coma 2B: Catacomb have become more aggressive, often forcing us to flee.

Visuals

The work of Dvora Studio is characterized by disturbing colors and pervasive darkness. Additionally, the game creators used a graphic style based on hand-drawn illustrations and elements taken from comics.
