A remake of the cult classic adventure game by Trilobyte, created by Israeli studio MojoTouch. You play as a person visiting an eerie mansion. Its owner is Henry Stauf, a former thief, whose life changed when he started to produce unusually beautiful dolls. Unfortunately, the children they were given to succumbed to a mysterious sickness, which drove the dollmaker to shut himself in the mansion.
The 7th Guest: Remastered is a refreshed version of Trilobyte's cult adventure game, which appeared on the market originally in the mid-1990s and was honoured with a number of industry awards, including the highest-rated game in 1994. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the game's release, the title was remastered by the Israeli studio MojoTouch and went exclusively to owners of Android mobile devices.
The 7th Guest's plot focuses on Henry Stauf's character. This homeless thief, who did not hesitate to attack vulnerable people with a knife in his hand, one day was inspired by a mysterious vision in his dream. Having trusted the prophecy, Stauf designed extremely beautiful dolls, which began to gain huge popularity and quickly became a hen laying golden eggs. The creator of this wonderful toy got rich and changed his life as if he touched a magic wand. Unfortunately, this idyll did not last long. The children who received the puppet started to suffer from an attack of a strange disease and nobody was able to help them. After this event Stauf abandoned further toy production, hid in his estate and for a very long time gave no sign of life.
The action starts when a player in the main character unexpectedly reaches the Stauf's headquarters. The mysterious visitor does not remember who he is, does not know why he found himself in the property and has no idea what it is all about. Further fragments of a gloomy story are discovered during a visit to a huge residence and solving riddles prepared by the host of the house. The latter are characterised by varying levels of difficulty. If our client is not able to cope with the task, they can go to the library and get the necessary tips there.
In The 7th Guest the player observes the action from a first person perspective and wanders between locations by clicking the mouse at the appropriate points on the screen, which is reminiscent of other members of the genre, e.g. the Myst series. Moving around the huge house is facilitated by the map, which clearly presents the layout of all rooms. The plot of the game is told through numerous film interludes, which reward the player's progress.
The new version of the game, released on mobile devices running Android, boasts a thoroughly refreshed HD graphics and remastered soundtrack, including improved acting dubbing. For comparison, however, the possibility of switching on the original graphics and sound was left. A completely new interface and menu were designed for the game and a control system was created from scratch, adapting it to the capabilities of mobile devices. One of the main attractions - especially for fans of the title - is 19 interludes and 33 audio fragments, which were cut out of the original 1993 production. Among the range of accessories you will also find the soundtrack, The 7th Guest novella and the original scenario of the game with instructions.
