Tetris Effect: Connected Description
Tetris Effect: Connected is an extended version of Tetris Effect, another variation on the cult Tetris. The original game was released in 2018 on PlayStation 4 and later on personal computers as a work of Monstars and Resonair studios. Both studios together with the Stage Games team have developed a new edition of the game. Owners of the previous version of Tetris Effect received content from Tetris Effect: Connected as a free update released the following year.
Mechanics
Tetris Effect: Connected does not change the gameplay rules developed for the original Tetris Effect. According to the Tetris tradition, the fun comes down to arranging the falling blocks of different shapes from above in such a way that they fill a horizontal line. If we succeed, the row disappears and makes place for the next elements. But if the blocks reach the top of the board, we lose. A novelty compared to the original Tetris is the option to stop the time, allowing you to think about the next move.
Game modes
The biggest novelty in Tetris Effect: Connected are local and online multiplayer modes. The add-on allows up to three people to play together in co-op mode. There is also an option for competition between two players, including a ranking mode with a matchmaking system. With successive victories, we are promoted to higher levels, for which we receive special avatars.
In addition, all single player modes from the original Tetris Effect release are available, including Marathon and Sprint.
Technical aspects and other
Tetris Effect: Connected does not make any changes to the audiovisual setting. So we have colorful, vibrant graphics and accompanying trance music.
The game allows you to play with virtual reality goggles, although they are not required. The developers have also implemented cross-play support, which allows owners of personal computers and Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles to play together.
