A first-person interactive short film. Testimony of HELP is set in the 1940s, during World War II, in the Ulm family home. The player witnesses a regular day alongside little Basia Ulm and the tragic fate that befell the family for sheltering Jews.

Testimony of HELP is a moving and thought-provoking adventure game, and an interactive short film. It was developed for the VR headsets, created by Connected Realities and the Polish Institute of National Remembrance.

Plot

Testimony of HELP is set in the 1940s, in the village of Markowa - where the Ulm family sheltered Jews during World War II. Once the Nazis found out, the police murdered the Jews and the entire family, including their six children.

The film shows what their everyday life looked like and is narrated by Basia, the six-year old daughter of Wiktoria and Józef Ulma. The story concludes with the tragic fate that befell the family.

Mechanics

Testimony of HELP is a first-person game. The player accompanies Basia and witnesses the family's everyday activities, such as garden playtime and taking photos with her father. We can also see where the Jews were hiding.

Technical aspects

Testimony of HELP features high-quality visuals. The characters are shown as silhouettes, but the environments are extremely detailed. The locations were based on actual photographs taken by Józef Ulma.
