Test Drive 5 Description
Test Drive 5 is the next installment of the popular racing game with a strong emphasis on driving realism. Unlike other arcade titles, maintaining the right driving line is a relatively big challenge, especially behind the wheel of the most powerful machines in difficult weather conditions.
This time, the creators put twenty-eight vehicles at the disposal of the players. Initially we have access to only sixteen of them, divided into two categories: contemporary (Chevrolet Camaro Z28SS LT4, Saleen Mustang S351, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and others) and historical (Pontiac GTO, Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS6, Ford Mustang 428 CJ and others). More machines are unlocked by winning individual competitions. Compared to the previous version of the series, the number of routes has also increased significantly - eighteen routes have been prepared, seventeen of which have been modelled on the existing ones, and only one is fictitious.
There are a number of different game modes for all drivers. In addition to the classic single race, in which we race against computer-controlled rivals and try to pass the next checkpoints on time, the quintessence of the game is the championship. Together with the victories we unlock other types of them. Depending on the mode, the champion is the competitor with the highest number of points, the best time or the winner of the first place in all races. There were also known from the previous edition of the Drag Race competition, which consisted in the fastest possible crossing of a straight route with a manual gearbox.
The biggest novelty is the Police Chase mode. We sit there behind the wheel of a police car and try to arrest other players suspected of various crimes. To do this, we try to damage the opponent's vehicle until the bar visible on the screen drops to a red level, and then we try to stop it.
Compared to the previous version of the series, the graphic design has improved. Both the cars and the environment are characterized by greater detail.
