From an early age, Targhan listened to stories about a mysterious castle located in the farthest corner of the fantastic land, which was inhabited by an evil and ruthless monster. The boy did not expect that when he grew up and became a great warrior, he would have to leave his native village of Edengarfin and set off on a journey to kill a dangerous creature. Over the centuries, many daredevils have been sent to the castle, who have not given a sign of life since the beginning of the mission. Targhan was to be the first to do the job and free the world from the tyrant forever.
This is a brief introduction to the plot of the Targhan programme, an action/adventure game created by the French studio Silmarils. As you can easily guess, it is the player who will be honoured to take part in the skin of the title warrior and perform a very dangerous mission.
In many ways Targhan resembles another Silmarils hit entitled Colorado. Just like there, here we also observe our hero from the side. The action of the game focuses on constant exploration of the land and elimination of all the creatures encountered with the help of a faithful sword. There is a large suit of blows available, the mastery and skilful use of which is the key to success in the struggle. Monsters differ in both impact resistance and fighting technique, so the player has to choose an effective tactic for each individual opponent. During the duels one should pay close attention to the level of life energy. If we lose it, our hero will die and the whole game will have to start again (there are also places where you can save the current state of the game, but we won't meet them too often). In addition to typical dexterity elements, there are also adventure threads in Targhan where objects are collected and used.
In terms of visuals, Targhan is at an average level. The most reprehensible are the dark and faint backgrounds, which make it difficult to explore the land. Also the character animation leaves a lot to be desired, but if we take into account the year of production, it does not look so fatal. There is no music at all in Targhan. From time to time we will hear pleasant sound effects, mainly during the fight and jumping.
