Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is an RPG developed by Awaken Realms Digital, an independent studio from Wroclaw, Poland. The game was funded using some of the money raised during the campaign to finance a board game of the same name. The crowdfunding campaign for the tabletop Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon was a great success; it took less than a minute to reach the goal, and the ultimate total ended up being almost 5 million pounds. The game's concept changed completely during production. Although initially it was meant to be an isometric RPG, in the end it became a first-person game.
Plot
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is set in a fantasy world inspired by Arthurian legends. King Arthur is dead, the Knights of the Round Table are in disarray, while the inhabitants of the island of Avalon struggle against the Red Death plague and the Wyrdness, a mysterious corruptive force.
We play as a hero discovering this dark land, its secrets, people and factions, each of which have their own idea on how to lead the island to a brighter future. We'll also need to make many difficult decisions, which affect our own fate and the fate of the land.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is set in a large open world. The player must traverse gloomy areas, meet its inhabitants, complete quests and make choices. Combat also plays an important role, as we'll face many enemies created by the Wyrdness, fighting them with blade and bow.
