A first-person action game, in which we eliminate enemies in various ways. Sword with Sauce offers a rich arsenal of firearms, melee weapons and gadgets, and the protagonist can climb or run on walls, which adds dynamic to battles.
Sword with Sauce is a dynamic action game developed by a one-man studio called Diatomic Games. Its style and mechanics resemble a Polish production SUPERHOT.
Game mechanics
Sword with Sauce uses first-person perspective (FPP) and consists of six stages (including a tutorial) at which we must eliminate all enemies. We can decide whether to do it by silently ambushing foes (the game informs us if our character is visible to your enemies) or charge in with blazing guns.
We are given a vast choice of weapons and gadgets, with our weaponry including a sword (with which we can not only slash enemies but also deflect incoming projectiles), shurikens, a bow, a shield (useful for hiding from enemy fire and pushing off foes) and various machine guns and shotguns. Those are complemented by scouting drones, remote-controlled robots that explode nearby enemies and classic explosives. Our character can also run on walls, climb on environmental objects and jump over long distances.
Technical aspects
Three-dimensional visuals of Sword With Sauce use a unique style, with close to no textures and spare colors. While a blood is ever-present, the violence is toned down by simple models of enemies.
