In Superman: Shadow of Apokolips we play the well-known comic character Clark Kent, otherwise known as a Steel Man or Superman. He must discover the mysterious phenomenon of kidnapping scientists from all over the city of Metropolis and it is the player who helps him in this.

The fate of the planet lies in your hands. Darkseid, the most evil being in the galaxy, has enlisted the aid of Lex Luthor in his quest to destroy Superman and take over the world. But realizing that he needs a champion of his own to take down the Last Son of Krypton, Luthor hatches an insidious plan that involves busting malevolent cyborg Metallo out of Strykers Island Prison. It’s up to Superman to foil their plans.
