Super Smash Bros. Video Game Series
A series of crossover games realized in the form of productions bordering on brawlers and platformers, available on Nintendo consoles. Over the years, various development studios such as HAL Laboratory, Sora, Game Arts and Bandai Namco have worked on successive installments of the series.
In games under the banner of Super Smash Bros. we get to play a number of characters coming both from various Nintendo games and from other famous productions. We are talking, among others, about characters from the series The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Yoshi, Star Fox, Kirby i Pokemon, as well as Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter or even Final Fantasy.
Fun in games from the series Super Smash Bros. takes place in multi-level arenas, where fierce duels are played. Unlike in classic brawlers, during them we not only fight opponents, but also have to jump on platforms and avoid traps and obstacles. In addition, on the battlefield our primary goal is not to deplete the opponent's life points, but to throw him out of the arena. Nevertheless, the more blows a character takes, the harder such enemies are thrown back.
Games under the banner of Super Smash Bros. are characterized by simple controls, based on performing standard and special attacks (on the ground and in the air), blocking blows and grabbing opponents. In addition, on the battlefield we can make use of various items, the skillful use of which increases our chances of victory.
Series productions Super Smash Bros. allow both single-player and multiplayer gameplay (depending on the part - only locally or also over the Internet). The visuals of each game are maintained in a cartoonish style. In turn, their soundtracks consist not only of dedicated tracks, but also songs taken from the titles whose heroes face off in them.
The first part of the series, simply titled Super Smash Bros. and developed by the HAL Laboratory studio, debuted in 1999 on the Nintendo 64 console. The production received a warm reception from industry media and was a commercial success, finding nearly 5 million buyers. For the second installment of the series, the Super Smash Bros. Melee, fans had to wait until 2001, when it hit the Nintendo GameCube console. The game received higher ratings than its predecessor and beat the sales score it achieved, finding more than 7 million buyers; thus, it held the title of the best-selling entry for the GameCube.
The third game under this banner, the Super Smash Bros. Brawl, made its debut on the Nintendo Wii in 2008. The title followed the path of its predecessor, earning high ratings and nearly doubling its sales (by March 31, 2020, more than 13 million copies had been sold). The fourth installment in the series, simply titled Super Smash Bros., came out in 2014. The title debuted in two versions -. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (it was the first installment of the series to hit the handheld) and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The brand has accustomed players to a high level, which was also maintained in this production. The title was also a commercial success; by September 2022, both versions had found a total of more than 15 million buyers.
The fifth installment of the series, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, appeared in 2018 on Nintendo Switch. At the time of its release, the production in question offered the widest range of available characters. In addition, the title enjoyed critical and player acclaim, receiving high ratings and breaking sales records. Suffice it to say that by the end of 2023, nearly 34 million copies of it had been sold.

Another entry in the fighting game series that began in 1999 and is an exclusive franchise of Nintendo’s consoles. The most characteristic feature of Super Smash Bros. is the appearance of characters known from other top-selling series of the Japanese developer. It isn’t different this time, with over 50 characters available, known from such franchises as Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Pokemon, or Legend of Zelda. The roster also includes completely new and previously unavailable fighters from Mega-man, Pac-man, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, Animal Crossing, and Bayonetta. In terms of gameplay, the title remains true to the tradition of previous games in the series, giving us a unique mix, which requires more than simply pummeling your opponents. Each skirmish takes place on a special, multilevel arena, and the gameplay may change during the battle, in a more platform game manner.

December 6, 2007
A sequel to the unusual fighting game, Super Smash Bros., from 2001, which was one of the most popular productions released for the Nintendo GameCube console. The characteristic feature of the series is the fact that fighters are the most famous heroes from Nintendo’s games, with such characters as the plumber Mario, Link from The Legend of Zelda, pink Kirby and his eternal enemy Meta Knight, Pikachu, and even Solid Snake – main protagonist of the Metal Gear Solid series. The game stands out with a huge amount of comedy and is far from being a typical fighting game, employing many elements from platformer games. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, battles take place on multilevel arenas, and numerous gadgets can help help you in achieving victory or complementing unique attacks and special moves of each fighter. A strong point of the game is its multiplayer mode for up to 4 players, which allows you to duel with people from all around the world.
