Super Hang-On is a computer adaptation of the popular slot machine game, taking up the topic of crazy motorcycle racing in various areas, located all over the world. SEGA's PeCet product conversion was developed by Quicksilver studio, which should be well known to all fans of programs such as Commando or Ikari Warriors.
The game offers four levels of difficulty, which corresponds to the number of subsequent stages and the continent on which we will race. Thus, beginners should start in Africa, which offers six sections. The more advanced awaits Asia and both Americas, where 10 and 14 stages are located respectively. Experts can travel in Europe, which offers as many as 18 sections. We compete on time, just like in other games of this type. If we manage to reach the checkpoint before the clock shows zero, we will get a dozen or so seconds more and go further. If we run out of time, we end the game. Other motorcyclists play a secondary role in Super Hang-On and almost immediately after the start disappear behind the horizon. However, this does not mean that we are driving alone all the time. Other road users may appear on the road, with whom a collision means a fall and a loss of precious seconds. The action of the game is presented similarly as in the games from the Lotus series, i.e. from behind the back of our motorcyclist. The routes are quite varied, with a large number of bends and hills, which makes driving difficult. It is important to correctly adjust the speed to the current conditions. Entering a sharp full speed bend usually results in a crash on the shoulder.
Although the visual side of the program looks pretty good, the graphics still can't withstand the comparison with conversions to other platforms. The advantages of the game include fast animation and varied scenery. It is much worse with the sound, which is limited to the squeaks of the Speaker's PC.
