Storyteller

Storyteller is an original puzzle game, which, as the title suggests, lets us take the role of the authors of various stories. It was developed by Daniel Benmergui, an independent designer, and published by Annapurna Interactive.

Mechanics

The gameplay in Storyteller takes place entirely on the pages of a virtual book. Each story takes the form of a puzzle waiting to be solved. The game sets their titles and gives us a certain number of characters, locations and situations. Our task is to arrange the latter on the comic fields in such a way as to use them to create picture stories whose content will correspond to what their titles suggest.

We create tragedies, stories about hunting dragons, and even variations on the biblical tale of Adam and Eve. With time, the stories we create become more and more complex, which forces us to juggle more and more available elements. In addition, we can create various storylines within a given theme. For example, a story about a broken heart, a story about a rivalry between two knights or about the death of a princess and the despair of her beloved will fit a tragedy.
