A skill sports game dedicated to the theme of freerunning, developed in cooperation with the British parkour group Storror. In Storror Parkour Pro we end up in the Isle of Dogs in London. We must face various sports challenges and participate in movie-like action scenes. We can play alone or engage in multiplayer.
Storror Parkour Pro is a skill game dedicated to freerunning - an extreme sport that involves overcoming obstacle courses while running, not only as quickly and smoothly as possible (like in parkour), but also as spectacularly as possible. The game is the result of a collaboration between the independent British team Hole in the Sleeve Game Studios and the titular Storror - a famous group of parkour practitioners and freerunners from the United Kingdom.
Gameplay
In Storror Parkour Pro we watch the events from the third (TPP) or first person perspective (FPP).
Freerunning and freerunners
The game takes us to the Isle of Dogs peninsula in East London, which we can freely explore. Moving around on foot, we run through the streets and roofs, as well as jump over objects or quickly and efficiently climb onto them. The character we control can perform somersaults (especially useful when landing after jumping from great heights), spin in the air, slide on inclined surfaces or swing.
We are allowed to play as both a player created by ourselves and as one of the members of the titular Storror.
Missions
The game throws us into an open world, allowing us to freely explore it. We are presented with a series of challenges that we can face. They include climbing specific objects (like a crane), as well as more "cinematic" actions, led by riding on the roof of a train or escaping from a helicopter. There are also more sports-oriented tasks here, such as time trials or fighting for the highest score.
Coop and other game modes
We can play Storror Parkour Pro alone or in multiplayer mode over the Internet. The game allows us to cooperate with other players and carry out missions with them, or compete with them for the best results.
Animations
While working on Storror Parkour Pro, the developers made an effort to implement character animations in the game that were as diverse and realistic as possible. For this purpose, cooperation was established with real athletes practicing parkour and freerunning, and a physical engine was used to monitor the behavior of the virtual competitor's body.
