Storm Master is another original position in the Silmarils studio, known primarily to players from the cult trilogy cRPG Ishar. French production skillfully combines elements of a fantasy adventure game and strategy with real-time battles.
We play the role of the charismatic leader of Eolia, a land whose entire economic power was built using very strong winds blowing all year round. After the murder of your predecessor, Eolia plunged into chaos and the spectre of a great war with her hated neighbour Sharkaania hangs over the country. One of your election promises, in addition to ensuring the well-being of citizens, was a final solution to the conflict using fire and unique Eolian technology.
The basis of the game is strategy, and your main task is to ensure the proper development of the state. This is not an easy thing because the subjects react vividly to all the moves of their leader, calling him a 'bloody dictator' in response to the daily collection of taxes. However, the Seven Council, made up of advisors and specialists in the most important fields - economy, industry, religion, commerce, science, entertainment and counter-intelligence - will help you manage the country. To succeed, the player must prove himself in trade and diplomacy, build windmills and learn to use the power of the wind, and finally hit the most sensitive point of the opponent. Air battles are played in real time and can be very fast and dynamic, or great and majestic depending on the number and power of units taking part in the fight. Interestingly, the game gives you the opportunity to design and test your own fighters.
Storm Master is an apparently difficult game for advanced players, but after getting acquainted with its mechanics it can provide many hours of interesting entertainment. The graphic design is detailed and stands at a high level - as in most Silmarils productions. However, the minus is due for the sound side, which is extremely poor.
