Stellaris: Nemesis Description
Stellaris: Nemesis is the ninth expansion for the Stellaris, and the fifth large add-on prepared for this strategy game. Like the main game, the expansion was developed by Paradox Interactive's in-house studio.
Mechanics
Changes in Nemesis focus on the final stage of the game, when cosmic civilisations must face a great threat. The expansion gives players a choice: either become a galactic guardian and face the threat of Menace, or they themselves become a threat to the entire galaxy. In the latter case, you will have to abandon your current objectives, but in return you will get access to a new interface, units, perks and quests. To obtain them, it is necessary to commit various evil acts and complete special projects.
Eventually this will lead the player to the construction of the Star-Eaters - powerful ships capable of destroying entire fleets and the largest celestial bodies. The dark matter obtained in this way can be used to create more Star-Eaters, but is also necessary to upgrade a major structure. So it is important to maintain a balance in the use of dark matter. Especially as other civilisations will also gain access to new inventions, diplomatic options and bonuses that will allow these factions to counter the new threat.
In addition, Stellaris: Nemesis introduces intelligence options, allowing you to spy and sabotage on other civilizations.
Technical aspects
As a stand-alone expansion, Nemesis requires base Stellaris to function.
