Stellaris Expansion Pack
Release Date: May 22, 2018
Strategy, science fiction, economic, RTS, 4X, sandbox, in space, grand strategy, multiplayer, singleplayer, internet
An expansion to a strategy game called Stellaris. The Distant Stars add-on features new scenarios, additional technologies, new planetary systems, and gigantic beings from far reaches of the universe.
Distant Stars is the fifth large DLC for the 2016's strategy game called Stellaris. Both productions were developed by Paradox Development. Distant Stars is not a standalone expansion – it requires the base game to work.
Mechanics
The expansion described herein revolves around discovering ancient gates that allow you to travel to the far reaches of the universe. Because of that, players can explore entirely new locations including uncharted planetary systems. There are also new planets one can colonize, special resources and new technologies that one can develop on his or her adventure. The developers have also prepared new scenarios and events, during which players can encounter gigantic beings. Some of them are peaceful, while others are hostile – regardless of their attitude; they have lived long before us and are not going down without a fight.
Apart from a lot of new content, Distant Stars does not alter gameplay mechanics in any significant way in comparison to what players experienced in the base game and previous add-ons. Players who are familiar with what Stellaris and four preceding expansions had to offer are bound to feel at home when playing Distant Stars.
