Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge - Last Call Description
Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge - Last Call is a sequel to the action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe, released in November 2020. Game was created for virtual reality sets, and it was developed by ILMxLAB studio, which has in its portfolio, among others, Trials on Tatooine, Star Wars: Droid Repair Bay and Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series.
Plot
Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge - Last Call contains three stories that take us on a journey to different corners of the galaxy and different periods of its history, allowing us to take on the roles of three characters. In the first one we return to the planet Batuu in the "skin" of the repair droid known from the previous game. Dok-Ondar asks us for help in delivering an ancient artifact. On the way things get complicated, because we come across a secret outpost of the First Order, which threatens the safety of the entire planet. The second story takes us back to the High Republic Era. Ady'Sun Zee, as a newly minted Jedi Knight, must teach her padawan, Nooa, how to handle the Force. The list of stories culminates with a mission in which we, as IG-88, a class four killer droid, find ourselves on the moon of Nar Shaddaa, where we must face the dangers waiting for us in a massive fortress.
Mechanics
In Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge - Last Call we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). The gameplay doesn't differ too much from what we can find in the original. During the game we explore various locations and take part in dynamic battles with enemies, using mainly the basic weapons in the Star Wars universe - blasters. Besides, from time to time we carry on conversations with neutral characters, among whom we can find both new faces and characters known from the movies, led by the droids C-3PO and RD-D2. All this is complemented by simple environmental puzzles, which we solve using, among others, the specialized equipment of the repair droid.
Technical aspects
Admittedly, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge - Last Call does not shock with the graphics quality, but it presents a very decent level. The game requires virtual reality goggles and dedicated motion controllers to work.
