Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions Description
Update: On July 28, 2016 Disney Interactive Studios closed the game servers. Earlier, Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions was removed from Google Play.
Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions is a mobile platformer set in the Star Wars universe. The game uses an unusual free-to-play model with microtransactions - we get access to a short demo free of charge, and further maps and challenges are unlocked with a one-time purchase.
As the title suggests, Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions is an adaptation of the computer-animated Star Wars Rebels series. The action is set between the third and fourth episode of the film saga, at a time when the Empire is increasing its power, hunting for the remains of the Jedi order. At the same time, the Rebellion is slowly being born and among its first members is the six-person crew of the ship called Ghost, which carries out sabotage actions against the imperial forces.
The game is divided into two sections. The first and much more important is the platforming aspect. The maps are made in beautiful 3D, but the gameplay mechanics remain true to the 2D traditions of the genre. While playing, we explore locations, collect items and fight enemies. The character we lead is Ezra Bridger - a rebel, who is also a Jedi knight. This gives him access to a lightsaber and numerous powers so that we can fight only with hordes of soldiers, but also against various combat machines, such as TIE Fighters or AT-DP machines. The game also has boss fights.
Between missions, we return to the base, which plays the role of the second section of the game. We can expand this command center and decorate it with various items. This not only gives you bonuses during your adventures but also allows you to discover secret rooms with interesting information.
