Stan Lee's Hero Command, released on iOS and AND, is a fighting game starring Marvel's superheroes. The game was created in cooperation with the F84 Games studio, which has created Survival Run With Bear Grylls and Candy Lamb Adventures, and the legendary cartoonist Stan Lee, the creator of Spider-Man, X-Men and Iron Man. The title is available in a free-to-play model with optional microtransactions.
Plot
Stan Lee's Hero Command takes place in a fictional universe that was attacked unexpectedly by aliens. They didn't, however, expect the planet to be inhabited by superheroes, designed from scratch by Stan Lee. Interestingly, the illustrator's role doesn't stop there, as he appears in the game and leads the Hero Command organization. The position of a leader obliges him to send heroes on various missions.
Mechanics
The game is a 3D brawler. The player takes control of characters with superpowers and fights against the enemy forces. The player leads a group of superheroes consisting of a Russian strongman Captain Steamhammer, the underage genius Seer and acrobatic Twins while the enemies are led by Lord Hibiculus, the leader of the cosmic race of Dark Gnomes, and the Sand Witch, an ancient mummy brought back to life by an ancient curse.
The game boils down to taking part in dynamic fights and completing main and side objectives of over 250 various missions. There are typical tasks (score a certain number of points, get rid of enemies), as well as a bit more sophisticated ones, such as boss battles.
Technical aspects
Stan Lee's Hero Command offers 3D graphics and quite intuitive control system in which we use a virtual analog stick and touch buttons displayed on the screen.
