An independent logic-arcade game with elements of a sneaking game. We play the role of the title chameleon agent, who performs successive secret missions, trying to avoid detection thanks to the ability to adapt to the color of the environment.

Spy Chameleon is a colorful puzzle-arcade game with stealth elements, in which we have to avoid detection using the ability to change the hero's color. This is the debut project of the independent development studio Unfinished Pixel from Spain.

Plot

In Spy Chameleon, we play the role of a secret RGB agent, whose task is to complete "extremely important" missions for a spy organisation. However, these are by no means tasks related to saving the world. The chameleon will have to, e.g. get intimate photos of a certain star and her lover, or to steal a secret formula of a bestselling beverage.

Mechanics

The gameplay mechanics are based on the ability commonly attributed to chameleons to adjust their color to the color of their surroundings. Our hero can use colorful elements of the environment and adapt to their color in no time so that he becomes temporarily invisible to the guards patrolling a given location. They come in five different types, each with a slightly different model of behavior. The key to success in individual missions is to carefully observe the movements and customs of the enemy and plan the route in such a way as to reach the destination unnoticed.

There are five different missions, divided into seventy-five stages. The difficulty increases with the next elements of mechanics. In addition to the main goal, each level has three additional challenges, such as achieving the best time or collecting the resources on the map. We can carry out further missions in several different ways, focusing either on time or on all the additional tasks.

Technical aspects

Spy Chameleon is characterized by 3D cartoony graphics. The action of the game is observed from a top-down perspective. The game is intended only for one player, however, a certain element of competition is introduced by dedicated online player rankings.
