Ski Springen Winter 2006 for PC will surely generate interest among the enthusiasts of ski jumping. An already non-existent Polish studio, Metropolis Software, developed the title.

Mechanics

The journey begins with junior ski jumping championship – this is how you start the main mode – Career Mode that features numerous management elements. However, winning ski jumping events requires loads of systematic training sessions – without that, you will not be able to win the Crystal Glove or the World Cup. There are 13 different events (including the Four Hills Tournament) that take place on the realistically recreated jumping hills. Moreover, the title also includes the Olympic event on the beautiful hill in Pragelato. Creative players can invent their own events.

Control systems play a key role in simulators. The programmers implemented a simple and intuitive control system, which allows the players to fully control the position of the jumper in every phase of the jump. This is important, because the physical fitness of each of the 26 jumpers varies; therefore the strategy and technique used for gliding can differ significantly. To make the title even more realistic, the rules and the scoring system fairly evaluate the gliding technique and landing.
