Splatoon 3

Splatoon 3 is the third installment of the hit TPP shooter series. Like the previous two parts, the game was developed by Nintendo's internal development team.

Plot

In Splatoon 3, we leave the familiar city of Inkopolis behind and travel to a new region known as Splatlands, at the centre of which we find the metropolis of Splatsville. The campaign in Splatoon 3 takes place five years after the events shown in Splatoon 2, in which we once again have to fight the threat posed by the menacing Octarians. The area we will come to explore quite thoroughly is the various islands that together form the Alterna region.

Game mechanics

In terms of game mechanics, the game develops ideas from previous games in the series. We get a shooter, in which the action is shown from a TPP view. Player characters can transform between humanoid and octopus-like forms. In this first one, they can shoot coloured ink using a variety of weapons, used to attack enemies and cover the environment in colour. The latter is crucial, as in the second form the creatures can float on surfaces inked in their colour, even walls and ceilings. In this way they also replenish their 'ammunition'. On the other hand, swimming on enemy ink causes damage and is much slower.

The fun is diversified by the development system, which allows you to unlock abilities, weapons and outfits that affect the character's statistics.

The third part of the series offers many new features. The arsenal has been enriched with a lot of additional gadgets, including bows. The movement system and options to modify the appearance of the character have also been expanded.

Game modes

The game offers a single player campaign and multiplayer gameplay. In multiplayer, the main game mode remained Turf War, known from previous parts, in which two teams of four players fight against each other. In addition, the popular Salmon Run mode is now available continuously, rather than only at designated times.
