Spellsworn released is a 3D action game focusing on multiplayer. The game is set in a fantasy world in which the players take control of powerful wizards and fight in an arena. This debut project by Frogsong Studios AB is inspired by such MOBA titles as League of Legends, Super Smash Brothers, or the Warcraft 3 modification – Warlocks.
Mechanics
Gameplay of Spellsworn begins with choosing the set of spells – they can be bought with a special type of money. We earn a pre-determined amount of it after each round. The available spells are divided into five categories (Offensive, Defensive, Area, Utility, and Travel). Among them, there is e.g. Fireball, Meteor, and Windwalk. Once we pick our set of spells, we are placed in an arena presented from the isometric perspective. The objective is to defeat the opponents by reducing their HP to zero. Interestingly, the arena shrinks as the time passes. Each match consists of five rounds.
Game modes
Spellsworn offers only multiplayer. We can engage in 1v1 battles or fight in teams (the arena can hold up to eight players).
Technical aspects
Spellsworn utilises attractive, 3D visuals which are very colourful and bring to mind such games as Warcraft 3 and League of Legends. The particle effects deserve special recognition as they make many spells look incredibly.
