Spec Ops Video Game Series

A series of tactical shooters with FPP or TPP view. The initial installments of the series were created by Zombie studio in cooperation with Ripcord Games. Currently, the brand is owned by Take-Two Interactive, and its development is handled by development teams Yager Development and Darkside Game Studios.

The origins of the series can be traced back to the 1998 PC release of the game Spec Ops: Rangers Lead the Way. Well-received by players, the title lived to see two expansions - Spec Ops: Ranger Team Brave the Way . Spec Ops: Ranger Team Bravo (1998) i Spec Ops: Mission 2000 (1999). Following the blow in 1999, the developers prepared a sequel - Spec Ops. Spec Ops II: Green Berets, which was accompanied by the expansion Spec Ops II: Operation Bravo. A change of publisher, which became Take-Two Interactive corporation, resulted in a game released in 2000. Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol addressed to for the PlayStation console. In less than two years, the series lived to see four more installments: Spec Ops II: Omega Squad (2000), Spec Ops: Ranger Elite (2001), Spec Ops: Covert Assault (2001) i Spec Ops: Airborne Commando (2002). There were also plans to play Spec Ops: Airborne Division, which Rockstar Vancouver studio was working on, but the project was not completed. The brand returned in 2012 with the multiplatform game Spec Ops: The Line, developed by Yager Development studio in cooperation with Darkside Game.

A dynamic TPP action game created by Yager Development. The game provides a continuation to the Spec Ops series started by Zombie Studios in 1998. The action takes place in Dubai, which is devastated by sand storms. The Delta Force team reaches the place in order to find the missing American soldiers who remained in town to protect its inhabitants. The plot of the game presents the player with grave moral dilemmas on more than one occasion. The gameplay itself focuses on traversing subsequent locations and fighting enemies. The player leads a team of three skilled soldiers. The dynamic movement of sand is an important element to the game, for it can become either an ally or a foe in certain situations. Apart from the single player campaign, the game features a multiplayer component. Spec Ops: The Line stands out with spectacular visuals and its unique, yellowish color palette.
