Spacewrights is a 2D space simulator with strategic and economic elements, created by an independent ArithmeBit studio.
Mechanics
In Spacewrights, we control a fleet of spacecraft that we use to travel through space, discover new planets and fight enemies. Just like in other space-sims, the creators took care of a number of possibilities and a huge world, which we visit as part of the adventure mode. Developers don't impose anything on players and allow them to choose their own career paths. Therefore, while playing, we can try to conquer the whole galaxy, fight for peace or simply explore the undiscovered areas. In addition, we can land on planets in order to catch new creatures (later they can be sold or used in combat) and obtain resources. You can participate in various side missions, as well as in randomly generated events. While playing, we unlock various items. We can browse them in a special hangar, which is also used to build and modify (a simple system based on connecting blocks) ships and space stations, as well as to assign new roles to crew members (soldier, engineer, hacker, etc.), or to correct their skills.
Game modes
Besides the campaign, Spacewrights also offers Survival Mode, where we control several spaceships and try to defeat waves of enemies. The game takes place both in single and multiplayer (including cross-platform option). Players can join forces and work together on more challenging missions or stand together against enemies.
