A space real-time strategy with tower defense features. It is a sequel to the game Space Run created in 2014 by Passtech Games. The story of the game takes place 20 years after the events shown in the predecessor and the player assumes the role of one of the employees of a company founded by Captain Buck Mann who specializes in transporting valuable cargo across dangerous areas of the galaxy.

Space Run Galaxy is a space real-time strategy with advanced tower defense features released on PC. The game is a sequel to Space Run, a game that was created in 2014. Both titles were developed by Passtech Games.

Plot

The story of the game takes place in distant future, twenty years after the events depicted in the previous entry in the series. Captain Buck Mann returns in the campaign. He is a specialist when it comes to transporting valuable cargo through dangerous areas of the galaxy. For two decades his business grew and right now it is a large transport company with well reputation and many clients. This time the player assumes the role of one of his employees. One must not only deliver the cargo in one piece, but in shortest time possible. It isn’t easy since the routes go through territories filled with enemy armies, pirates and hostile aliens.

Mechanics

Space Run Galaxy released on PC combines the features of a space RTS and a tower defense game. Before each mission, the player builds parts of the hull of any shape from hexagonal parts. Then, an engine is installed (at first there is only one available, later the user will earn credits for other ones) and finally the cargo is placed on the ship. Once the player is ready, the ship starts the journey and player uses the free hexes to construct additional devices such as laser turrets, rocket launchers, shield generators and boosters. All of it is used not only for repelling enemy attacks, but for eliminating natural threats (like asteroids) as well.

After starting the journey the player has no control over the route of the unit. However, it is possible to control the weapons and other deck systems. The game offers variety of challenges. In addition to a few enemy factions there are bosses in the shape of giant ships or space monsters. Transported goods are varied as well – they are divided into a few categories and each category has different transporting requirements.

The game takes place in a large area of galaxy consisting of four planetary systems, fifty zones and more than one hundred of tasks. In comparison to the previous installment, new corporations were added – they offer even more dangerous and profitable tasks. The game offers a few online options as well. There are no classic multiplayer games available, but players can create unique contracts and share them with the rest of the community. In addition to that, a black market, on which the economy is shaped by actions of players, is available as well.
