Soviet Lunapark VR is an FPS game by an indie Russian studio Mundfish. The production was developed for VR headsets and requires both goggles and motion controllers.

Plot

Soviet Lunapark VR is set in the alternate, retro-futuristic Soviet Union — on an island amusement park designed by Doctor Pavlov, to be exact, where the most important officials are invited; the attractions include intelligent machines and other technological wonders. During your visit, however, things get out of control—the robots rebel, and hordes of zombies are unleashed. As the protagonist, you have to grab a weapon and escape.

Mechanics

Soviet Lunapark VR utilizes a first-person perspective. There are four varied locations to visit — an exhibition room, a flooded storage, underground tunnels, and a creepy theater. The gameplay focuses on exterminating enemies with your weapons. Each kill earns you points, and to get more of them, you need to aim for the head or kill several enemies at once. Moreover, sometimes you solve simple puzzles, in which you i.e. manipulate a ray of light to make it shine on a battery powering a giant robot.

Game mode

Apart from the singleplayer mode, the game also features a multiplayer mode for up to 8 players.

Technical aspects

Like Atomic Heart, set in the same universe, Soviet Lunapark VR utilizes the Unreal Engine 4. Thanks to this, the production features high-quality visuals, especially for a VR game.
