Sonic Forces

Sonic Forces for PC, PS4 and etc. is a 3D platform game and another installment in the popular franchise by Sega, starring the eponymous blue hedgehog. It was developed by Sonic Team, the creators of the well-received Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations.

Plot

The game tells a story of the invasion of giant robots built by Doctor Eggman. A resistance movement is founded to fight them and Sonic becomes its key member. His task is to thwart the evil scientist's plans.

Mechanics

In terms of mechanics, Sonic Forces develops the ideas from the previous installments of the series. The game utilizes the third person perspective, and the gameplay is focused on rushing through maps that are full of traps and enemies. Along the way, you collect golden rings.

The game preserves the franchise most characteristic element: speed. Sonic is fast, and when he collects several speed-boosters, he can move so quickly you may have trouble with discerning what is happening on screen.

Moreover, you can now summon alternative versions of the protagonist and control several of them at once to deal with those challenges that are too difficult for just one hedgehog.
