Songs of Conquest: Vanir PC

Songs of Conquest: Vanir is the first DLC for the turn-based strategy game with RPG elements titled Songs of Conquest, which was inspired by the Heroes of Might and Magic series. The expansion was developed by the authors of the original, namely the independent studio Lavapotion.

Novelties in the expansion

The biggest feature introduced in Songs of Conquest: Vanir is the new titular faction. We're talking about Viking-inspired people coming from the frosty land in the east. It is made up of new units, each with unique features and skills, as well as previously unavailable Wielders (heroes).

The Vanir are not only fierce warriors, but also have the ability to transform into Vildr, powerful, murderous creatures with animal characteristics. The type of creature a given Vanir can transform into depends on the specialization it represents. For example, Huskari can become a Korphan fighting using beak and claws and able to jump behind the enemy, the berserker can transform into a large bear, while the shaman can turn into the mythical Jormr.

A new campaign dedicated to the titular faction was not made available in the add-on. Instead, a new winter biome was prepared. 5 maps for Conquest mode allow us to fight with Barya, plunder Aerlon or traverse the swamps under the control of Rana, while 2 challenge maps allow us to help the lost troll Sorg find his way home or embody Jarn Steadfast, known as the one who refused to change into Vildr.

The list of novelties is topped by sets of artifacts of varied power, available on both new and old maps.

Coop and other game modes

Just like in the base version of the game, Songs of Conquest: Vanir can be played alone, in coop or in competitive multiplayer (via Internet or locally).

Songs of Conquest: Vanir is not a standalone DLC, so it requires the base game Songs of Conquest.
