FPS taking place in the near future. The solar system, which is shattered by conflicts, is preparing for the next war. The player stands at the head of one side and tries to dispel the war to its glory.
The future outlined in Solar does not look too rosy. Destroyed by constant conflicts and pollution, the Blue Planet is nothing more than an emptiness that threatens normal existence. The moon, torn apart by a network of underground tunnels, was turned into a landfill that could not fit on Earth. The situation on Mars, a planet undergoing partial terraforming, is no better. Despite the existence of modern and profitable mining colonies, the spectre of war also arrived here, wreaking havoc among all living things. In such a world, which does not give a chance for a better tomorrow, two powerful factions join another conflict. ECD (Eastern Collective Democracy) and UWA (United Western Alliance) will try to seize the last raw materials available in the Solar System and destroy all competition. However, no one expects that another, much more dangerous opponent will take part in the fight - the undead, begotten in toxic vats. The terrible army of pain-resistant soldiers is a huge challenge for both the ECD and the UWA. However, it is possible to donate it to your side, which should make it much easier for you to win.
Solar provides a rich set of weapons, ground vehicles, ships and aviation units. Fully interactive environment draws attention, which can be freely ruined by the above mentioned means of extermination. Are there trees standing in your way? No problem, an accurately placed grenade will solve this issue. Do you mind the ruins of buildings? A rocket impact, and surely only rubble will remain after the construction.
The game takes advantage of the improved engine called Mecury, which was previously used in another Brat Designs product - Breed. It provides variable atmospheric conditions such as fog, acid rain or snow, as well as advanced lighting effects and shadows, and a pixel shader. Solar has an extensive campaign for one player (three large missions taking place on Earth, Mars and the Moon), and Multiplayer mode, which allows thirty-two people to have fun at the same time in several types of gameplay.
