SkySaga is an online sandbox game for PC. At first glance it is similar to the popular Minecraft, however it offers much more than just construction. The players can together participate in adventures and complete special quests. The game was developed by Radiant Worlds.
Gameplay
Playing SkySaga starts with creating a character. The player can determine character’s hair cut, skin color or gender. Once the whole process is over, the game starts in a levitating island that from now becomes the main base of operations of the player. The island can be freely modified and upgraded. Each player has his own location and by using special invitation one player can visit another and, for example, they can build a castle together. The resources required for constructing buildings can be obtained by destroying special blocks – during the adventures one can find such resources like wood, iron or minerals which after processing can be used for various purposes. The higher the experience level, the more receipts and schemes the player can use.
Crafting system not only allows placing building, but manually creating other objects, such as weapons, as well. The latter are used mostly during quests. Each island has a special portal which transports the character to a procedurally generated territory. Together with other players transported there, one can complete special quest and defeat all the opponents. Rewards such as new items, experience points and magic stones that unlock access to more difficult adventures are waiting for those who will complete the mission. Players who prefer fighting other players instead of cooperating with them can use similar portals in order to move to separate PvP areas.
Technical aspects
SkySaga for PC looks similarly to Minecraft – all characters and the world are constructed of angular blocks, but the effect is bit more detailed than in Minecraft. There are also other, rounder forms present in the game world in addition to the blocks. The game uses colors that are pleasant for the eye and it has an advanced dynamic lighting system. The game is completely free, but players can use microtransactions to buy better costumes for the character or speed up the process of gaining experience.
