A mix of TPP platform game and puzzle game, in which we play the role of Cassie with the technology that allows her to manipulate gravity. In Sky Beneath, we're going through futuristic stages, avoiding obstacles and solving ingenious environmental puzzles.
Sky Beneath is a mix of 3D platformer and puzzle game, where the gameplay focuses on gravity manipulation. The game was developed by independent studio Mindhaven Games.
Plot
The action of Sky Beneath takes place on a distant planet, where years ago mankind established cooperation with an alien mining company. However, the cooperation, which was supposed to provide the people working here with wealth, went extremely badly, resulting only in deepening social differences between the rich and the poor.
The main character of the game is Cassie, the junk collector. Led by her brilliant friend Annie, the girl has to find a way to leave this globe while discovering the truth about what happened to its former inhabitants.
Mechanics
In Sky Beneath the action was shown from the third person perspective (TPP). The game consists of various levels, including abandoned laboratories, rich metropolises or citadels belonging to aliens. Although they are full of technology, their best days are behind them, so during the game, we come across the overgrowing flora and representatives of the local fauna (such as creatures called rats-raccoons).
As we go through the next stages, we solve the environmental puzzles of gravity manipulation. Cassie has advanced technology that allows her to move on walls and ceilings and to change the direction of the gravity force acting on objects around her. In this way we can not only get to difficult places, but also avoid traps and remove obstacles or influence the operation of various devices and manipulate switches (for example, opening doors at the other end of the room). As we progress, we are improving the capabilities of this technology with resources scattered around the places we visit.
Technical aspects
The graphic design of the game Sky Beneath may appeal to you, mainly because of the detailed designs of abandoned, futuristic locations. The whole thing was maintained in a pleasant to the eye, cartoon-like style and richly coloured.
