Another title in the nearly 10 year old series, initiated by the famous SimCity, takes us to the heart of Africa. The game refers to SimPark released almost two years earlier, offering - apart from a few improvements - almost identical gameplay mechanics and moves it to a completely different region of the world.

Contrary to the original, the arena of our activities is divided into three zones: a nature park, a camp and an African village. In order to achieve success and get the highest five-star rating, it is necessary to efficiently manage all three areas of our complex. Playing in a nature park is subject to the same rules as in the twin SimPark. Our goal is to fill the area with appropriately selected species of plants and animals and to take care of the proper biological balance of the ecosystem created in such a way. We must take into account the specific requirements of individual species of fauna and flora, choosing those which will suit the park in terms of climate, nutritional conditions, etc. We must also take into account the specific requirements of individual species of fauna and flora.

A new element in SimSafari is the camp, which serves as a tourist base. As our business must generate the revenue needed to develop it further, we must ensure that the right conditions are in place for tourists to visit us. To this end, we are building restaurants, hotels and swimming pools, planting them with natives, rented in the village. We can also employ drivers, chefs and guides there, bearing in mind that an appropriate level of employment guarantees us a good cooperation with the indigenous peoples. This is because unemployed inhabitants may start to deal with e.g. poaching, thus acting to the detriment of our complex.

As in other series games, various natural disasters such as fires, droughts, tornadoes and locust infestations can interfere with our plans. Just like in the SimPark, SimSafari gives us the opportunity to take advantage of the huge knowledge base about plant and animal species. Each of them is described in terms of nomenclature, occurrence, biological needs and illustrated by means of a short animation.

Apart from educational values, the game is distinguished above all by colorful and detailed graphics, which will appeal especially to younger audiences.
