Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment Description
Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment for PC, 3DS and etc. is a free DLC for the fan-favourite platform game Shovel Knight developed by Yacht Club Games.
The Plot
In Specter of Torment, we have a new protagonist to play as, the titular Specter. The game takes place before the events of the base game.
Mechanics
Gameplay mechanics in Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment are very much similar to those from the original Shovel Knight. Once again, the game combines the element of an RPG, 2D platformer, and an action-adventure game. During our adventures presented from a side-scrolling perspective, we explore new fantastical locations, solve simple envirnnmental puzzles, and battle the encountered enemies.
The new protagonist has a new set of moves and attacks at his disposal. Unlike the Shovel Knight, The Specter can climb on walls and other environmental objects, which opens some new tactical possibilities for the players. The shovel from the base game was replaced with a characteristic scythe.
Game Modes
Shovel Knight: A Specter of Torment for PC, 3DS and etc. offers a single player campaign and a set of challenges designed with the Specter in mind.
Technical Aspects
Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment uses the same engine as the original Shovel Knight. Game visuals resemble those from the ‘8-bt era’ games. Just like the base game, Specter also has a climatic soundtrack.
