Shinobi is an extremely popular SEGA program, which reigned in almost every gaming room at the end of the 1980s. The player takes on the role of the eponymous champion of eastern fighting, whose task is to break up a terrorist network, gathering together both common bandits and Japanese ninja warriors.
The game is divided into five segments with increasing levels of difficulty. Each of them consists of several stages, the completion of which requires the rescue of all the hostages. Besides, you have to keep within the time limit and not be killed, of course, because then you will have to start the level from the beginning. Our hero can fight melee as well as striking enemies at a distance using shurikens. Sometimes there is also a very helpful bonus in the form of a gun that puts all opponents in one shot. At the end of each segment there is a boss waiting for us, whose neutralization is usually very difficult.
PC port of the game was prepared by Micromosaics Productions studio and only in general resembles the original. The audio-visual setting is a nightmare, in no way matches the original or even conversions to other home computers. There are several graphic modes to choose from, but still you can't fool yourself, the PC version of Shinobi looks worse than bad. It's no better in the audio layer. There is no music at all, and the sound effects are a few screams from Speaker's PC.
