Probably the dream of every karate, both beginner and more advanced, is to get a black belt, which at the same time means reaching the highest initiation. It is no different in International Karate, the famous murder of System 3, in which the player will play the role of a warrior, practicing one of the most popular martial arts. However, while in real life the black belt is bought by many years of hard training and laborious deepening of knowledge about technology, in this game it seems to be much simpler. In order to achieve the goal it is enough to defeat eight candidates for the title. We already know why Karate, but why International? It's easy. Each player is in a different part of the globe. In order to carry out all the planned fights, we are forced to travel all over the world.
Our hero has a rich set of blows, each of which is rewarded with a certain number of points, symbolized by dots at the top of the screen. Winning a duel requires two full points - in the case of the strongest strokes, it means two accurate hits. The opponents, of course, will not remain indebted and will use every opportunity to eliminate us. The game is relatively difficult, especially after reaching a higher belt than the yellow one.
Although the game is a direct conversion of the program from Commodore 64 (released three years later), it is far from the original. Graphics in CGA mode do not impress. Yes, all locations and player animations are nice, but they lack more colors. The soundtrack consists of one musical motif, quite a good one, the more appreciation for the authors that it is played by PC Speaker. The only serious drawback of the program is the lack of keyboard support for the player. You can only play with the joystick, which in the case of PC programs is a big omission. If we invite a friend to the duel - because the program and the possibility of such a duel - we will need two joysticks.
