Online action game set in the submarine depths, which is an improved version of the production released in the Xbox Indie Games in 2012. The game focuses on a multi-person diving rivalry, during which they must be careful not only about the actions of their rivals, but also about the threat from marine predators. Rivalry variants are complemented by cooperation mode and single player survival mode.

Shark Attack Deathmatch 2, released on PC, is an online action game set in the underwater depths. The production is an improved and extended version of Shark Attack Deathmatch which debuted in 2012 on Xbox 360 on the Xbox Live Indie Games. Both titles were developed by Lighthouse Games Studio. This developer has also made a number of smaller productions for Microsoft platforms, including a series of action games featuring Xbox avatars (e.g. Avatar Deathmatch, Avatar Onslaught or Avatar Cannon).

Mechanics

The general rules of Shark Attack Deathmatch 2 don't differ significantly from those of most online shooters. The main difference, however, is that we wear a diver's outfit and move underwater to compete either with other players or with the titular shark. This environment significantly influences the movement mechanics, as well as the available weapons.

Shark Attack Deathmatch 2 offers several breathtaking submarine maps, such as the underwater cemetery, New York flooded by the tsunami, the Russian submarine base, and even Atlantis. We face several faithfully reproduced species of predators, e.g. white shark, sand tiger shark, Caribbean shark, bull shark, blacktip shark or tiger shark. Like most online action games, Shark Attack Deathmatch 2 also has the option to personalize your character and equip them with a variety of accessories, such as suits, swimming flippers, goggles, tanks, tubes, etc.

Game modes

Shark Attack Deathmatch 2 offers a wide range of multiplayer modes, including the classic deathmatch mode for up to eight players. Its characteristic feature is that we must be careful not only about the actions of our direct rivals but also the sea predators. Apart from the competition variant, the game also offers a cooperation mode, in which the main opponents of the players are the sharks.

In Predator Mode, one player becomes a shark, and their task is to deal with divers in a bloody and brutal way. Besides the multiplayer modes, we can also play the single-player survival mode.

Technical aspects

Shark Attack Deathmatch 2 features extremely attractive visuals creating picturesque undersea landscapes. Compared to its predecessor from the Xbox 360, the game is a step forward in technical terms, as it has been adapted to the much greater capabilities of today's PCs.
