Severity is the first-person shooter (FPP), created mainly for the games played by the network. However, because it contains several single player modes, single-player fans will also find something for themselves in it. The producer of the game is Escalation Studios. Originally created for the Cyberathlete Professional League (a popular organization for professional gaming tournaments in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia), it ended in 2008. However, the project did not die with CPL.

The game presented in Severity focuses on team fights and one-on-one battles. They are very effective, which was achieved thanks to an extensive weapon system, among other things. In Severity we can shoot with weapons characteristic for our times, as well as futuristic means of extermination. The fun is therefore varied, allowing you to use different tactics.

The production has been equipped with many options to facilitate tournament play, including accurate statistics and spectator modes. In addition, the title uses technology developed by id Software for Quake III to present the players' actions. Implemented changes allow you to see a lot of modern visual effects in Severity, but the biggest advantage of the game is the ability to run the program on weaker computers.
