A remake of an adventure game from 1999, created by Benoit Sokal who is known mostly thanks to Syberia series. Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy remake offers much improved visuals, as well as a bunch of new puzzles and an expanded story compared to the original.
Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy is a remake of the adventure game of the same title released in 1999. The original was the first video game with Benoit Sokal as its lead designer. He is a Belgian cartoonist who later went down in history thanks to the famous Syberia series. The remake was made by the Microids company, which is also responsible for its original.
Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy allows us to play the role of a young reporter who decides to fulfill the last wish of a traveler named Alexander and sets off to the titular, extraordinary land in Latin America. Once he is there, the protagonist must confirm the existence of a large white bird that spends its entire life in flight - from birth to death. On the way, our protagonists meets other colorful characters, each with their own story and motives, and also learns more and more about the nature-dominated Amerzone.
The story follows the path set by the first version of the game, but has been enriched with a number of additional story plots and other elements.
In Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The game allows us to explore locations using special "nodes" between which the protagonist moves. Upon reaching one of them, we can freely look around the surroundings and interact with its elements.
During the game, we traverse an ancient land, engage in conversations with the characters we encounter, delve into the secrets of the local fauna and flora, and above all - solve various puzzles. Among the puzzles, we will find both those known from the original and a number of new ones. They mainly involve manipulating old mechanisms, searching for quest items and using them in a specific way.
Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy stands out from the original thanks to its thoroughly refreshed graphics. The authors focused especially on textures, character models, and the lighting system.

Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy Review: A good remake, still stuck in the past
Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy might be the strangest gaming experience I’ve had in a long time. This is a remake of a 1999 first-person point-and-click adventure, and while it vastly improved the visuals of the entire experience, the controls are still stuck in the past.

It's remaster time, again! There are also several ambitious AA games on the horizon and a highly awaited RTS.
The classic adventure game scored a successful comeback, although the remake of Benoit Sokal's first game failed to fight its way onto the best-seller lists.
