Two Falls (Nish Takuakut) is an adventure game developed by independent studio Unreliable Narrators.

Plot

Two Falls takes us on a journey to 17th century Canada. In the game we take control over two characters. First of them is a girl named Jeanne, who found herself here after the disaster of the ship sailing from Europe. The second is Maikan, a young Innuit forced to travel west after people from his village fell ill with a strange disease.

The stories of both of them intertwine, allowing us to see the same places and events from different perspectives. While for the frightened Jeanne everything is new, alien, strange and sometimes scary, Maikan, who is a native, can recognise animals and plants easily, and can navigate and move through the woods with no trouble.

The fate of Jeanne and Maikan depends on the choices we make. Our decisions affect both the protagonists and the entire presented world.

Mechanics

In Two Falls we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). During the game we travel through the Canadian wilderness and get to know its inhabitants and colonizers, with whom we talk. By completing tasks and pushing the action forward, we gradually learn more not only about the characters in the game, but also about the old Canada, its inhabitants and their traditions.

Technical aspects

Graphics of Two Falls is in a characteristic style, which is supposed to make this game look like a moving picture. The rich vegetation overgrowing the forest may appeal here above all.
