Release Date: December 9, 2025
A story-driven rhythm game developed by independent studio D-CELL GAMES. Take on the role of a young singer and help her master track after track of music in the Japanese animation style UNBEATABLE.
UNBEATABLE is a rhythm-adventure game with third person perspective (TPP). It was developed and published by an independent studio D-CELL GAMES. Before the release of the full version its episodic demo - UNBEATABLE [white label] - was published on steam and itch.io platforms. The first free episode - UNBEATABLE [white label] SIDE A TRACK 1 - was released on May 7, 2021, enjoying considerable popularity not only among fans of rhythm games.
In the game we learn about the story of a young girl Beat, who together with her friends co-found a music band. Playing different songs, we discover more memories of the heroine's life, whose past and adventure with music turn out to be quite complicated.
The main idea of UNBEATABLE is to play musical sequences on a chosen difficulty level. While playing the song we use two buttons, which we have to press at the right time to get points and not lose some lives. Perfectly matching the rhythm allows us to neutralize the monster rushing towards us or avoid one of the obstacles. When we skip a certain number of moves, the game ends. We can then play the sequence over again or return to the start menu. At certain moments of each track, our life can also be regenerated.
The tracks have 5 different difficulty levels: beginner, easy, normal, hard or unbeatable. The game also allows us to set the speed of the songs themselves, as well as monsters and obstacles coming in our direction. If we have difficulty in passing the songs or we prefer to concentrate on the story part of the game, we can also use Assist Mode or No Fail option.
Moving around the locations, the main character can interact with various objects and carry out conversations with other characters. In some moments the game offers us a choice of several dialogue options, so it's up to us what approach to a given issue the protagonist will show.
UNBEATABLE is a 2.5D game, developed on the Unity engine. It is kept in the style of Japanese animation and has vivid, colorful graphics. A characteristic element is also a flickering and moving image, which, although it is not a great impediment to gameplay, may prove to be a hindrance for those sensitive to flashing lights.
Already the first, free section of the demo - UNBEATABLE [white label] SIDE A TRACK 1 - apart from a short introduction to the story, contained several full music tracks, providing at least an hour of gameplay and a lot of fun. Among the songs we can find such titles as Empty Diary, Mirror or Forever Now.

Game Ratings for Unbeatable Video Game.
Gamer Escape: 8 / 10 by Josh McGrath
UNBEATABLE is an excellent experience, and one that I'll likely be playing far into the future through its included Arcade mode. The vibes are immaculate, and I'm pretty well satisfied with the overall package. But a bit more time expanding the story and fixing up some notable issues could easily have taken this game from "great" to "spectacular."
Use a Potion: 7.5 / 10
UNBEATABLE isn’t perfect, but its wonderful sense of style, absolutely banging soundtrack, and energetically unique rhythm-based gameplay make it a stand out as a worthwhile experience. The story pacing stumbles and the technical issues can definitely interrupt the momentum, yet the game’s personality and creativity still manage to shine through. If you’re a rhythm game fan looking for something stylish and unique, you’ll find plenty to enjoy with UNBEATABLE. Oh, and when some patches fix some of the game’s issues? You could add an extra point to our score.
IGN: 6 / 10
Unbeatable suffers from an identity crisis, pairing a decent arcade mode with an uneven story mode that buries its rhythm gameplay beneath a bit too much padding.
