Sanabi Description
SANABI is an old-school action platformer. It was developed by an indie studio Wonder Potion and published by Neowiz.
Plot
SANABI is set in a dystopian future, in the MAGO megacity, ruled by a corrupt conglomerate. The city is hit by a mysterious blackout, which causes its inhabitants to mysteriously vanish. The main protagonist is a retired military veteran, who must settle the chaos overtaking MAGO, find out what happened and hunt down a mysterious entity - the titular SANABI. As he delves deeper into the intrigue behind these events, he discovers the secrets of the corporations ruling the city.
Mechanics
SANABI is a side-scroller. Players must traverse skyscraper rooftops, building interiors and neon-lit streets. Each stage requires good reflexes, being full of traps, obstacles and enemies.
The protagonist's primary tool is his prosthetic arm equipped with a grappling hook. It lets him swing on parts of the environment, jump farther, grapple to specific spots, slam into enemies and dodge their attacks. On his journey he's helped by Mari, a hacker who can open locked doors, pinpoint the enemies' weak spots and decipher encrypted information.
Technical aspects
The pixel art visuals of SANABI make use of a dark cyberpunk artstyle. The game's soundtrack is atmospheric and fits the tone well.
