Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves

Sang-Froid is a product that combines elements of an action game, an RPG, and a strategy game. This is the debut project of an independent Artifice Studios.

The game is set in Canada in the nineteenth century. It tells a story of two brothers who are trying to save their sister chased by the Devil himself. The heroes must look beyond their differences and join forces against the werewolves, Wendigo, spirits, possessed animals, and other monsters lurking on their lives. The story is heavily inspired by the rich beliefs of the Inuit people. It is worth noting that the one of the script co-writers is Bryan Perro. The author is best known for the popular series of fantasy novels Amos Daragon.

Sang-Froid is a real cocktail of genres, so it combines elements of RPG, strategy and action games. Every night the Devil sends out hordes of his minions. Your task is to repel wave after wave of attacks on the hut in the forest and to prevent your sister from being kidnapped. The days are spent on preparations for the defense, especially on setting various traps, such as, e.g. pits with spikes, snares, or nets with heavy stones. You can also build guard towers interconnected by a system of steel cables, enabling rapid transportation around the vast map.

Sunset is a harbinger of the arrival of the beasts. Proper use of wind that carries the smell of a bait helps you to lure monsters directly into a trap. The monsters that manage to get through can be dealt with using axes and guns. The key role is played by fear. For example, fire causes terror among wolves and leads to chaos in a pack, making it easier to kill them. With just a little oil it is possible to create massive walls of fire.

Successes in Sang-Froid are rewarded by experience points that can be spent on skills development of the heroes.
