Sam & Max: Season 2 - Ice Station Santa is the first episode of the second season of the new edition of adventures of a couple of crazy detectives - dog named Sam and his rabbit companion named Max. The general concept of the game has not changed. Ice Station Santa is a classic adventure, equipped with a point and click interface. This means that you can control the characters only with the mouse by clicking on the elements of the environment you choose - objects or NPCs.
The plot of Ice Station Santa refers to Christmas. The main heroes decide to go on a trip to the North Pole to solve the Christmas gift crisis. Their enemy is Santa Claus himself, who doesn't know why he has started to behave very strangely - he sends inappropriate gifts to children all over the world and terrorizes his co-workers with plastic toy weapons.
Ice Station Santa does not deviate too much from the scheme presented by other parts of this series, offering a large dose of crazy humor. It should also be noted that the events taking place at the North Pole are not the only attraction of this product. Sam and Max also visit a restaurant called Stinky's, to which we were not allowed during the first season. They may meet Abraham Lincoln's stone head there.
Ice Station Santa also has one brand new arcade mini-game to offer, in which we can take part in illegal rat boxing fights. Other novelties include a five-stage hinting system and the ability to run Sam, which shortens the time needed to travel through large locations.
The graphic design has not seen any major changes. The only noticeable innovation is the addition of full support for panoramic screen resolutions. There were also professionally prepared dialogues and appropriately selected music.
