As in most MMO games, gameplay is about travelling the vast world of the game, fulfilling tasks and missions commissioned by independent heroes, participating in raids, as well as fighting enemies (in this role a large number of diverse beasts). The basis for success is, of course, the development of skills and abilities of the controlled hero. Forts and locks are a great variety of this unquestionable cRPG scheme. They are extremely important from the point of view of the game, because in the Royal Quest one of the player's most important tasks is to take over the buildings, as well as the gold accumulated in them. Decorative fortresses can be equipped each time with additional infrastructure (gold mine or garden), which not only has a positive impact on the increase in prestige, but is also a source of valuable raw materials, which are used by residents.

Performing its tasks, the player takes part in clashes with a number of different opponents. According to the rules of MMO games, they are a source of experience points and gold. Sometimes the liquidated enemy will also leave behind a unique item or special card, thanks to which you can improve a certain piece of your equipment or acquire new skills.

Battles in Royal Quest require the player to concentrate and constantly analyze the situation. Fighting against a fiery opponent, the most powerful Burning Sword will be of no use. In turn every ice creature will fall under the pressure of even an average Fire Hammer. In addition, the game does not lack the ability to fight PvP, and PvPvE, in which players can compete with each other and with beasts controlled by AI.
