room13 PC

room13 for PC is an action platform game, in which you traverse a mysterious maze full of hordes of undead. The game was developed by The Paper Robot, the creators of several well-received mobile productions.

Mechanics

The protagonist has no personality, and one of the main objectives in the game is to learn why he ended up in the labyrinth full of zombies. They have no face, which allows an introduction of one of the most interesting elements of the game: the players are able to give the avatar a face they chose – there are over 30 of them available, and some are more crazy than others; you can find a shark head, for example. The gameplay focuses on completing levels and eliminating zombies with your own crafted weapons. There is a wide variety of parts available, which can be used to build hundreds of combinations. In practice, it allows you to choose different weaponry in every playthrough.

During the game, you have to collect what's left of the defeated foes in order to exchange them for special batteries. Three such batteries unlock the next of the thirteen levels. Each level ends with a boss fight.

Technical aspects

room13 for PC utilizes the Multimedia Fusion engine by French company Clickteam, which is also the game's publisher. The game features unique visuals, mostly black and white with splashes of bright red, usually used in depicting the zombies' blood. The game also has low system requirements, which allows for good performance even on ten-years-old computers. room13 features professional soundtrack by indie musicians, Orb Soundwerx.
