Ridge Racer Slipstream Description
Ridge Racer Slipstream, released on AND and iOS, is a mobile spin-off of one of the oldest and most popular racing series, launched in 1993 on arcade machines. The franchise, which belongs to Namco, has so far received more than 25 games on all major home and mobile platforms. On the 20th anniversary of the release of the original game, Ridge Racer Slipstream also appeared on mobile devices.
Mechanics
Following the tradition of the series, Ridge Racer Slipstream focuses on dynamic and spectacular gameplay, with a typical arcade driving model that has little in common with realism. One of the key elements of the game is spectacular drifting. These maneuvers build up a special bar that activates the nitro booster, which significantly increases our chances of winning.
In Ridge Racer Slipstream, we can drive 12 cars - unfortunately, they aren't licensed (which also became a specific tradition of the series). However, we can upgrade our vehicles with a wide range of more than 300 parts. The creators prepared a total of 20 tracks set in 10 different locations, such as ancient ruins, a factory, a port or the city center.
Game modes
Ridge Racer Slipstream offers the career mode, where 108 races await us, divided into 6 Grand Prix series. It is also possible to play in Arcade mode, where we can choose from three types of races: Regular, Quick and Knockout.
Technical aspects
The game's engine was developed especially for mobile devices, so the graphics look very good. The strong point of the game is also the option of real time multiplayer competition, allowing for simultaneous gameplay of up to 8 people.
