Retro Game Challenge is a set of fictional retro games served in a rather unusual form. This product is designed exclusively for Nintendo DS users.

This game is based on the popular Japanese TV show Game Center CX. This is a show led by the famous comedian Shina Arino, in which the classics of electronic entertainment are presented in a witty way. The plot of the Retro Game Challenge refers to the character Arino. In the realities of the game he is a bad champion who manages to move the player in time. The only chance to return to the present is to complete all the classic titles chosen by Arino.

The common feature of the games included in this set is that they are one hundred percent fictitious, although to a greater or lesser extent they parody the greatest hits of the eighties.

An unquestionable attraction of the Retro Game Challenge is the wide variety of games available. The player can test themselves in RPGs (Dragon Questa parody), shoot enemy fighters (Galaga, Space Invaders), and even take part in car races. Available games are easy to use and not too long. In addition, a variety of codes, facilitations and hints have been made available to the player in order to avoid the traps left by Arino. Between the games, funny pictures are displayed, which are forged articles and cut-outs from magazines, allegedly reviewing the presented titles.

The visuals of all the games included in this set are very simple, because they are based on hits from the glorious times of eightbit computers. In most cases, the control is done in a classic way, i.e. using a crossword and buttons. Only selected games offer support for the DS touchscreen.
