Modern remake of the first entry in the classic game series Resident Evil, which popularized the survival horror genre. The original game was released for PlayStation in 1996, but due to technical issues, the developers decided to base on the 2002’s remake for the GameCube console. Once again, we witness the origins of the deadly virus created by the Umbrella Corporation, which eventually got out of control.
Remastered and completely refreshed version of the first part of the cult series Resident Evil which popularized the genre of survival horror and was followed by a number of continuations as well as film and comic book adaptations. The original production was released by Capcom in 1996 for the first-generation PlayStation consoles. However, the new edition is based on the version published in 2002 for Nintendo Game Cube. We can therefore call it a remake of a remake.
Resident Evil is a story about a deadly virus developed by the mysterious Umbrella Corporation. No longer contained by scientists, the virus turned most of the residents of Raccoon City into zombies. In order to settle the crisis and deal with the marauding hordes of bloodthirsty monsters, the authorities have dispatched a special branch of the army called S.T.A.R.S. Players control two members of that squad: Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. Although their fates intertwine during the game, each character has a slightly different plot and set of initial equipment.
The remastered version of Resident Evil, released for PC, PS4 and etc., was given completely revamped graphics at 720p resolution, with significantly improved textures and characters’ models. The original sound was also brought to a completely new dimension, having been re-mastered to 5.1 surround standard. As for the technical layer, the creators decided to adjust to the players’ habits. In the new version of the game, we can decide whether we prefer to play in a classic 4:3 aspect ratio or in a modern 16:9 widescreen ratio. The same goes for controls If we play with a gamepad, we can choose the classic version – moving with the use of d-pad – or the model typical for modern games and controllers – with the use of analog stick.

Resident Evil Series
Resident Evil is a series of Japanese survival horror films published by the Capcom studio. Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara are mainly responsible for its creation. It had its beginning on March 22, 1996, with the release of the game Resident Evil (also known as Biohazard) for the PlayStation console. It was during its promotion that the term survival horror was coined. The prototype of the series is the game released in 1989 Sweet Home, based on the film of the same name. Fujiwara himself was responsible for it, and many elements, such as QTE sequences or inventory management, were transferred to the series. Biohazard. Since then, the series has grown steadily, gaining more game installments, as well as film, animated and comic book and book adaptations.
