Rambo 3 is an arcade game based on the film under the same title. This time the brave commander goes to Soviet-occupied Afghanistan, from where he has to get out his superior, Colonel Trautman. The whole story is, of course, a perfect excuse for the bloody butcher John Rambo will arrange for his opponents. For most of the game we observe our hero from above, just like in the Alien Breed series or the legendary Gauntlet. The only exception is the scenario in which we have to shoot down an enemy helicopter with a tank - then we are dealing with a simplified FPS. Standard missions are limited to the penetration of Soviet military complexes and the extermination of numerous opponents. At the very beginning we are only equipped with a knife, the rest of the arsenal we will get by searching the boxes scattered all over the base. In addition to typical weapons, there are also other accessories, such as a bone that we can throw the dog, so that it will follow us; a silencer that allows to eliminate enemies quietly and thus, not causing a sudden visit of a whole platoon of Soviet soldiers in a modest barrack; a night vision device, useful in the dark or special goggles that reveal the location of infrared beams, triggering an alarm. These are the elements that make Rambo 3 not just a normal, delayed shooter, but something much more ambitious.
